GONE WITH THE WIND

At least from his former life anyway. Apparently our canine Rhett Butler is every bit as charming and persuasive as Clark Gable was in the movie. He was pulled from the pound, named Rhett Butler and transported to his Foster Mom's Mom, yes you read that right. Mom delivered him to Daughter's door and within 10 days, made Rhett her own and adopted him. She started talking about wanting to keep him almost from day one. She said he was too precious and charming to let go.

So our Rhett never made it to the website but that is just fine with him. Here is a chronicle of Rhett story in pictures:

Rhett preparing to get sprung from the pound.

Rhett riding in the car on his way to foster care.

Rhett making himself useful by becoming the corner deck guard at his foster home.

Rhett today, in his foster turned forever home.

Through the power of social media, we learned that Rhett's original owner knew he was at the pound, having escaped once again from his property. We also knew that he had frequently been on the lamb and offered shelter in a neighbor's home. Unfortunately, his owner chose not only to not come claim him, they did not even call the shelter to release him so he was held in the pound for 10 days waiting...

So, regarding Rhett's former life before the car ride above, he says, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

Congratulations Rhett and family!
